Unleash @ Therapeutic Gardens is a speculative project in collaboration with NParks and Pet Safari aimed at elderly pet owners in Singapore. We hypothesised (and researched) that these individuals might experience declining pet care quality as they face physical limitations. Our surveys revealed two key insights: first, there's resistance to adopting modern solutions that could enhance their lives, often due to a preference for familiar routines or disinterest. Second, many elderly individuals who refrain from digital solutions prefer accessible support.
To address these challenges, we focused on enhancing existing non-digital resources while considering our target personas. Our problem statement identified a lack of spaces that cater to elderly pet owners' health needs and pet care concerns.
Our solution involves creating a speculative space within future Therapeutic Gardens. These green spaces in parks are designed for elderly leisure and socialisation, accommodating various health conditions. Our aim is to establish a dedicated area within these gardens where elderly pet owners can access care for their pets, and a warm community of people alike.
